One of the experiences we’ve tried to create on VodPod is that great, communal feeling of watching something with other people — your friends, your family, or people who share your enthusiasms and interests. You can pull together a video collection with clips from literally hundreds of video sharing sites, but your Pod provides a single place to watch and enjoy and disucss them with others.

As with many other sites, you can rate and discuss videos on VodPod. But we’ve also added in some unique, fun, and more light-weight ways to alert other folks on your pod what you’re watching. Next to the video, you’ll see a “Tell ‘em” box. Click on that, and you can let other people know you’re watching a video, loving it, or even laughing out loud. Even in our little office of three people, we have quite a bit of fun using that feature to let each other know we’ve seen something, or that a video made one of us laugh. It’s a fun way to express yourself, and alert your friends and pod-mates about the good stuff.

Hat tip is definitely owed to last.fm on this feature (we’ve expressed our love of that service before). We are inspired by the feeling of “listening together” last.fm creates. We hope we’ve done something similar here, allowing you to watch together.
