We’ve always had really advanced but simple tools to make adding a video to your collection easy (the bookmarklet, our importer, etc.)
But we’ve just made things even simpler. You can simply paste in the URL for the video you want to add, either from the bookmarklet (when you’re browsing) or from your Account using the AddVideo button.
Of course, this being Vodpod, it works seamlessly on many video sites, not just YouTube and a couple of others. Quick. Easy. Fast.

This is great news! I’m sure it’s going to be very useful to me.
It does bring up a issues & questions about “mobile collecting.” (I have android / nexus1)
Mobile browsers don’t have bookmarklet support (I think)
Navigating to the “Add Video” button with a URL to paste is too awkward (IMO)
I use a private “droppod” with your “importer” tool, then “organize” and edit/copy from there.
Is there an easy/clever way to “precollect” via URL? Is there a way to send a URL via email and have it appear in my droppod? Is there something I’m missing?
Of course the Android & iPhone apps make this slightly easier when you’re collecting a video from your feed, or from someone’s collection.
We don’t have a tool — yet — to do this while browsing off of Vodpod. But… there may be something we can do here. Thanks for raising the problem, reechard.
Thanks for simplifying our life !
Glad you like!
